Welcome, future Raider! Embarking on the path to become a RaidGuild member involves completing an Apprentice Cohort process, where you’ll gain the skills, connections, and guidance needed to thrive in the guild. This page provides the steps and resources to prepare you for joining a cohort, followed by a path to full membership within RaidGuild.

Steps to Start Your Journey​

  1. Introduce Yourself
    Head to the #tavern channel in our Discord to say hello! Share your skills, background, and interests with fellow guild members and apprentices. This step is essential to connect with the community and begin your journey.

  2. Add the Guild Calendar
    Sync the Raid Guild Google Calendar to stay informed about key events, cohort sessions, and meetings.

  3. Explore the Guild’s Codebase and Resources
    Visit our Raid Guild GitHub to explore the guild’s projects, repositories, and resources. Familiarizing yourself with our codebase will prepare you for technical contributions and give you insights into our work.

  4. Check Out the Guild’s DAOHaus
    Our financial decisions, proposals, and treasury are managed on the Raid Guild DAOHaus. Familiarize yourself with this tool as it will become essential for your guild operations and contributions.

  5. (For Graduates) Use the Dungeon Master Dashboard
    Once you complete the cohort process, the Dungeon Master dashboard is where you can view active Raids, track members, and manage projects. It’s a central resource for coordinating raids and guild activities.

Essential Resources for Newcomers​

To make the most of your apprenticeship and gain full membership, use these resources in the following order:

1. Discord: The Guild’s Core Hub​

Most guild interactions take place on Discord. Join the RaidGuild server here and familiarize yourself with our channel guides. While apprentices have limited access, your participation will open more opportunities within the guild.

2. Become an Apprentice​

The first official step to joining the guild is to apply for a cohort. As an apprentice, you’ll complete tasks, prove your skills, and gain exposure to real-world projects. To learn more, visit the Become an Apprentice page for details on what to expect and how to apply.

3. Prove Yourself in Raids and RIPs​

During your apprenticeship, you’ll have the chance to work on both Raids (client projects) and RIPs (internal improvement projects). These tasks help demonstrate your abilities and contribute to the guild’s mission.

4. Find a Champion​

To move from apprentice to full member, you’ll need a current member to champion your entry. Champions vouch for apprentices who’ve proven their dedication and skills. Read more about this process on the Champion a Member page.

5. Get Paid and Use DAOhaus​

Guild members are compensated through DAOhaus. Once you begin contributing to guild projects, you’ll use DAOhaus to request and receive payments. Familiarize yourself with DAOhaus to manage your earnings and vote on guild decisions.

6. Participate in Guild Governance​

As a member, you’ll have a voice in guild matters. Learn about Proposal Types to understand how decisions are made and how you can submit proposals for funding, new projects, or changes in the guild.

7. Access Tools and Resources​

The Raid Guild Tool Shed is your library of essential resources and tools, from development to project management. Explore these tools early on—they will be valuable in completing tasks and excelling in your cohort.
