Champion a New Member

RaidGuild’s growth relies on its members' judgment to recognize and champion apprentices who are a strong fit for the Guild. Championing is a mix of endorsement, mentorship, and staking $RAID tokens, ensuring that only the most promising new members advance to full membership. To encourage this mentorship, successful Champions receive a $RAID reward.

Championing and $RAID Staking

To champion a new member, a Guild Champion must stake $RAID. The stake amount varies by applicant type:

  • 25,000 $RAID for applicants who have completed a Raid Guild cohort.
  • 50,000 $RAID for those who haven’t completed a cohort or if the Champion belongs to the same cohort season as the applicant.

The Champion’s stake will be returned if the apprentice meets the success criteria outlined below. Upon staking, the applicant gains the Apprentice role, which includes access to the necessary permissions for them to meet these criteria.

Champion Rewards

Champions earn a 12,500 $RAID reward once their apprentice successfully achieves the new member success criteria (previously 25,000 $RAID).

Success Criteria for New Members

New members must show they contribute meaningfully to the Guild, bring value, and actively engage. Within 60 to 120 days of starting their apprenticeship, an applicant may be considered for full membership if they achieve the following:

  1. Engage in at Least One Raid or RIP: Join and contribute actively to a Raid or RIP. Ongoing projects count as long as the apprentice remains in good standing.
  2. Attend Two Guild Meetings: Participate in at least two Guild gatherings, such as the Round Table or Raider Roundup.
  3. Align with Guild Values: Demonstrate Guild values, as assessed by the DAO.

Championing Steps

  1. Stake $RAID: Transfer the required $RAID to the New Member Championing minion at 0xd6343fde84e9a2197faa2ae1d6affdb46675856d.
  2. Open a Championship Issue: Create an issue on the RIP repository using the Championships issue type. Track the applicant’s progress on the Champion Board.
  3. Submit Staking Transaction Details: Add the Blockscout transaction link and any relevant details about the applicant in the Championship issue.
  4. Mentor and Track Progress: Guide the applicant as they complete activities and Guild engagement.
  5. Assist with Membership Proposal: When the applicant meets the success criteria, help them submit a membership proposal to the DAO, including evidence of their progress.
  6. Claim Your Stake and Reward: After the applicant is approved as a member, submit a proposal (within two weeks) to retrieve your $RAID stake and Champion reward. Include a link to the successful member proposal.

Key Deadlines

To ensure a timely process:

  1. Apprenticeship Duration: Apprentices must apply for membership within 60 to 120 days of their start, allowing time for development without delays.
  2. Champion Reward Deadline: Champions have two weeks following the member proposal’s approval to request their stake and reward.
